With nearly 2000 well-trained graduates, the school has been setting the bar for excellence in the beauty industry since 1985.
All Instructors continue to maintain ties to the beauty industry, and many still practice professionally to keep ahead of industry trends. We believe that you must keep your skills current in order to teach, which is why our instructors stay up-to-date with additional training on the newest, most cutting-edge equipment and trends.
Many schools will offer add-ons or special classes. We include all classes in your original price, and you have access to all pieces of equipment throughout your entire education. Graduates from the Institute have a reputation for excellence. Students transition easily from the classroom into any salon spa, medical spa, or their own business.
Licensed by the State of Oregon Board of Education, the school has trained over 2000 professionals in Esthetics, Nail Technology, Advanced Esthetics, and Electrology. Currently, the school focuses exclusively on high-level skincare with offering two distinct esthetics programs.
The Aesthetics Institute of Portland has been offering advanced beauty education since 1985.
The Institute is located in southeast Portland, offering students the perfect backdrop for an education in beauty and fashion.
The Rose City is a place where individuality reigns supreme, which means we get to practice outside the box with creative styles, colors, and techniques.
Portland is also home to America’s third-largest fashion week and the birthplace of numerous natural beauty brands. The Huffington Post says it’s ‘The beauty capital you’ve been missing‘.
We are currently offering two cutting-edge programs in high-level skincare and are one of the very few beauty schools in Oregon that offers both of these programs.
Our Masters Esthetics Program is our beginning-level esthetics program that requires no previous esthetics experience.
Our Advanced Esthetics Program is our continuing esthetics program which requires a current Oregon esthetics license.
Throughout these structured, interactive courses, students learn advanced techniques and get to practice with the modern tools, techniques, and technology used in salons and spas today.
Our mission is to give students practical knowledge and a unique job market advantage upon graduation.
After opening a satellite college in Spain, the school’s name was changed to the International College of Electrology and Thermology.
Years later, the college moved to its current location in southeast Portland and became the Aesthetics Institute. The facility has more than 5,000 square feet of classrooms, instructional areas, testing areas, private treatment rooms, body treatment areas, and offices.
Today, Mrs. Mendoza is still heavily involved in the school’s success. She is constantly updating the curriculum to ensure graduates leave the Institute with a solid foundation and preparing them for the demands of the current work environment.
